Background:

Frylite is Ireland’s leading supplier of fresh cooking oil and collector of waste oil. Frylite has a wide customer base which includes independent restaurants, pubs and hotels, schools, contract caterers and well known food chains where they provide the complete oil management system, with a ground breaking all in one oil supply and waste collection service. There are 240 staff across 5 depots; Strabane (Head Office and Production Plant), Coleraine, Dublin, Cork and Galway with a fleet of 80 vehicles.

Job Purpose:                                      

Assume full responsibility for the continued success and growth of the Strabane Plant through, effectively managing 60 staff across production, despatch, garage, maintenance, health and safety and environmental as well as liaising closely with Group Managers and Depot Managers. The plant runs from 7am to midnight Monday to Saturday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, develop and motivate staff and supervisors across the production, maintenance, quality, despatch, garage, health, safety and environmental departments to ensure the achievement of production performance, profit objectives, customer expectations and quality
  • Comply with all Health & Safety Policies and instructions and actively contribute to Company efforts to promote safe behaviour and safe systems of work
  • Collaborate with the senior management team and managers across the other depots to lead the business towards the achievement of strategic objectives
  • Ensure that all staff adhere to all policies, procedures, roles and regulations
  • Manage production and despatch schedules and the production control process to ensure timely delivery and collection
  • Evaluate, recommend and with approval, continue to improve methods and processes to increase productivity and quality
  • Develop plans for the maximum utilisation of materials, machines, and employees to ensure plant profitability and ensure the plant operates within budget
  • Source and maintain technological knowledge of advancements in equipment and processes
  • Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and the plant
  • Maintain a positive and motivated culture and environment of high performance and improvement
  • Ensure the Strabane site is safe and secure at all times.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • Extensive experience of successfully managing a production facility preferably within the food related sector
  • Able to demonstrate a proven track record of performance and improvements as a Production/ Plant Manager
  • Previous experience of effectively and positively managing people
  • Experience of using IT systems to extract and analyse information and produce reports
  • Ambitious and determined
  • Ability to think and consider the commercials and ensure that activities and outputs connect across the group as well as overall group goals and objectives
  • Effective and motivational people manager
  • Confident working with and reporting to senior management
  • Excellent negotiation skills
