Summary of Job:
The Chief Executive is expected to be a dynamic and experienced leader who will provide inspirational and motivational leadership on all aspects of ACT business. The Chief Executive will be the senior accountable officer for the Charity and its senior public representative in working with stakeholders including central and local government. The Chief Executive will play a formative role in building and delivering community-based services to support communities in North Belfast, ensuring accountability and achieving results that contribute to the improvement in the lives of local people. The Chief Executive will be expected to have an understanding of the socio-economic landscape of Belfast, and Northern Ireland and the role of ACT in this context and in the broader context of these islands.
Working in support of the Board of Trustees, the Chief Executive will be expected to make a major contribution to the future strategy and vision for ACT whilst being accountable for all aspects of ACTs operations. Working with the Board of Trustees, the Chief Executive will set ambitious goals for the organisation and support the organisation in working towards their realisation. The Chief Executive will have responsibility for developing implementation plans for the agreed strategies and, building on the commitment and enthusiasm of the management team, will lead the performance of ACT for the benefit of North Belfast and the wider community. The CEO will support the Board of Trustees, recruit and manage the senior leadership team and support ACT staff to deliver ACT’s vision, aims and objectives through enabling leadership and clear strategic direction. The Chief Executive is expected to lead, develop the capability and motivate the senior team to deliver operational excellence in customer service and have demonstrable team management skills and the ability to generate new ideas in the context of a fast-moving organisation.
