Director of Development
Location: Greater Belfast

Salary – Commensurate with experience

Reporting to Group R&D Director, the new Director of Development will be responsible for managing a small multi-disciplinary team focusing on and leading the development of new devices across this multi-national medical device firm.

Requirements:

• The successful candidate will be a technical expert in the development of medical devices
• Be able to work in a multi-functional, multi-disciplinary team and to build relationships with peers.
• Will have an ability to manage own time and that of others in a fast-paced environment and on multiple projects at one time.
• Educated to Degree level in an Engineering or Scientific subject.
• At least three (3) years’ experience in the development of medical devices
• Ability to manage and lead a small team
• Able to demonstrate their leading input into the development of a product that has been placed on the market
• Ability/willingness to travel nationally and internationally

Desirable

• Relevant Post Graduate degrees or doctorate
• Working knowledge of latest design methodologies such as Lean, Hybrid.
• Working knowledge of CAD, FEA and other design tools.
• Working knowledge of risk management tools such as FMEA
• Working knowledge of ISO 13485 compliance, including ISO 10993 biocompatibility. Understanding of international regulatory requirements, such as US FDA and Japan FDA, a plus.
