Engineering Manager
County Galway
Nelipak is a leader in the design, development and manufacture of custom designed thermoformed packaging for the medical device and pharmaceutical industries. The group operate seven production facilities, across North America, Europe and Latin America. Nelipak have retained the services of Forde May Consulting to recruit a new Engineering Manager for their Galway facility, a role responsible for technical engineering, lean, maintenance and innovation programs at their Galway facility.
Key responsibilities include:
The post-holder will be required to demonstrate capability across a broad scope of activities. Key responsibilities will include:
- Establish a robust continuous improvement system
- Develop and deliver programs leading to accretive financial performance
- Identify technologies, products and materials not currently in use in the plant that will add value to the Organisation in expanding our manufacturing capability leading to enhanced product offerings
- Lead cost synergies program
- Develop, maintain and improve KPIs for your department with a view to meeting or exceeding annual objectives
- Interact with global engineering team with a view to sharing best practice
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following attributes:
- Passionate about lean implementation with a solid track record of success
- Strong engineering and technical expertise in maintenance management
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams
- Good communicator
- Strong project management skills
- Experience in thermoforming, die cutting, HF welding and automation advantageous
Essential qualifications, experience & core competences:
- A degree in an engineering discipline
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an Engineering Manager role within a manufacturing environment
- Experience in NPI
- Experience in the evaluation and development of technology roadmaps and manufacturing systems design
- Experience in using Lean and Six Sigma tools
- Financial and commercial experience
- Experience in managing capital projects
